1) The 32nd President of the United States, Franklin D. Roosevelt, held the title of longest-serving president from 1933 until his passing in 1945. He is the most long-serving president in American history because he is the only president to have held the office for four terms.
2) Diagnosis of Polio: In 1921, Roosevelt, then 39 years old, became paralyzed from the waist down due to poliomyelitis. Roosevelt continued to participate in politics and public life despite his condition; he moved around in public with a wheelchair and leg braces to maintain discretion.
3) United Nations: Roosevelt was a major proponent of the UN’s formation during the wartime conferences in Tehran, Yalta, and San Francisco. The UN was established in 1945 to foster international cooperation, security, and peace among states in the wake of World War II.
