Buster Keaton: The Quiet Cinema Icon Who Conquered Gravity

1) When Buster Keaton was a child, his family friend and magician Harry Houdini gave him the nickname “Buster.” Houdini remarked that the young Keaton could take a “buster,” which refers to a forceful fall.

2) One of Keaton’s signature looks came to be his stoic, expressionless face. Because of his ability to keep a straight face even in the face of mayhem and chaos, he was known as “The Great Stone Face.”

3) At a very young age, Keaton started performing in vaudeville with his parents. His parents performed slapstick comedy and acrobatics as part of a well-liked vaudeville act known as “The Three Keatons.”
