1) Brando is well-known for his iconic parts in movies like “The Godfather” (1972), in which he played the formidable Don Vito Corleone, and “A Streetcar Named Desire” (1951), in which he played the melancholy Stanley Kowalski. He was nominated for two Academy Awards for both performances; in 1954, Brando’s performance in “On the Waterfront” brought him the Best Actor Oscar.
